About VSOMO
Vocational Training: Anywhere, Anytime
VSOMO is a mobile vocational training platform built for the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) of Tanzania. Developed in partnership with Airtel Tanzania, it enables learners across the country to access accredited short courses entirely through their mobile phone.
The platform is mobile-first and optimised for low-bandwidth conditions, making it accessible in rural and peri-urban areas where traditional training centres are out of reach. Learners can study at their own pace, complete assessments, and track their progress, all from a basic Android device.
VSOMO has been deployed to serve workers on Tanzania's major infrastructure projects, including the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) and the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Station, providing workers with career development opportunities without leaving their job sites.
